Hi there, I’m Barbe! I was born in Holland, but now live in Sydney’s Southern Beaches. I’m a mum, a wife, and a lover of all things sparkly, shiny and leopard print. My obsessions include shoes, sunglasses and lipstick, and my favourite colour is black. I’m a typical Libra- messy, a sucker for beautiful things and creative- and I would rather sit in front of the mirror and play with make-up than go to the gym! Oh, and I happen to be a Breast Cancer Thriver.
Why a Blog?
I’m a social media enthusiast, but my portfolio is scattered across Facebook, Pinterest, Twitter and Instagram (my current favourite!). The aim of this blog is to tie it all together.
On all of these platforms, I get asked for styling advice… A LOT. Now I can refer people to my blog, and discuss here for all to see!
Truth be told, I’m no one special. I’m just a hopelessly-addicted-to-fashion suburban mum, with two adult sons and a daughter. But it got me thinking, how many of us are out there that feel we have outgrown shopping in the cheaper, younger, funkier chain-stores, that still want to look stylish, but not look like mutton dressed as lamb? Regardless of whether we work, or are stay-at-home-mums, we still want to wear fashionable clothes. So where do we go? What do we buy?
Well I’m here to show you how! We can look incredible. (And never like lamb, I promise)
What can you expect from my blog? Inspirational shots, shopping tips, and loads of selfies. You will also see lots about beauty, as I review some new products, as well as show you my favourites.
My background is beauty therapy, and B.C. (before children) I worked in a successful salon, was a freelance make-up artist, and had a role as a group buyer of accessories for a chain of perfumeries. My personal style includes lots of black, but I will always try to cover a range of different options. You can sit back and relax, and I will do all the research for you.
I aim to blog twice a week, and you can come and kick my butt if I don’t perform!
Thanks for reading, I welcome and truly look forward to your comments.
