So it has been a while Fashionistas, but I am baaahaaack!
And I have a beauty of a review and a demo for you: the new VS Sassoon Wet + Dry Straightening Brush*.
My daughter will tell you I am not great with hair, braiding, plaits and Cheerleader hair is passed on to people who know what they’re doing. Make up? No problem, get in line! Hair is definitely not my forte.
I do have fun trying though, and I will do anything to try and make my fine hair look a bit fuller. I have also previously reviewed the VS Sassoon Curl Secret and I still enjoy using that. I was pretty keen to try the straightening brush.
Here is what it says on the VS Sassoon Website:
Meet the simplest styling tool for your busy lifestyle. The Wet + Dry Straightening Brush will straighten, volumise and dry your hair in minutes. It can tackle the trickiest of manes, no problem. And, with its ionic conditioning technology and advanced ceramic plates, it will leave your hair looking and feeling fabulous.
-
Dry, volumise and style in one
-
Step out with silky, shiny hair
-
Save time, look your best
So how do you use it? It is very simple.
- Wash and towel dry hair – Best to be used on nearly dry hair (70% dry is recommended)
- Adjust the tension control: from 1 for wavy or straight hair to 4 for hard to style, frizzy hair
- Divide hair into areas, as you would when styling hair with a blow dryer.
- Use the hottest setting for thick hair and the cooler settings for finer hair
- Take a small area of hair and place the brush close to scalp, pulling away from the head and turning the brush under.
- Continue until all hair is dry and smooth
But of course, actions speak louder than words, don’t they?
Here is the demo!
Here are my final thoughts:
I like the fact that it saves me time in the mornings.I wash my hair every day, so I need to style it every day as well. The VS Sassoon Wet + Dry dries and straightens my hair at the same time, leaving me with extra time in the morning.
It does not leave my hair super straight either, which looks so much better with my fine hair. It actually creates a lot more volume than a straightening iron does.
The Ionic Technology and Ceramic plates leave my hair really shiny and soft.
I like it a lot! I have been using it the whole week, because I have been super busy and it worked a treat! And at AU$62.95, I think it is a very affordable system, which gives great results.

Til Next time,
oooh! I really need something like this! I’m always on the lookout for newer and better products to help tame my totally unruly and frizzy hair.Hope it comes to Canada!
That is definitely an affordable option compared to the $200+ ones I’ve seen about the place! I like the idea for creating volume in fine hair which is certainly something I’m always keen to do. I am a big fan of the Curl Secret (or the Suck “n” Curl as I call it) because for the first time ever, I can get curls at home with complete lack of hair skills. If only they’d bring out something similar for loose barrel waves!
