So you know I am a bit of a lipstick addict, right? (Case in point: my lipstick gallery!)
I came across a subscription box from the US called Lip Monthly. (not too sure what I think of that name). It seemed quite reasonable and even though reviews seemed a little mixed, I thought I would give it a go.
This is what it says on the website:
We Search For the Best in Lip Products!
Every month LipMonthly’s experts travel across the country to find the best products in retail stores, so you don’t have to. We will bring you the best deals on the market, in our beautifully designed packaged bags. All that’s left for you to do is try them on!
A Unique Experience Each Month
You Choose your Duration:
1 Month, 4 Month or AnnualWhether you love Lip Gloss, Lip Stick, Lip Balm or Lip Stain, we’ll send you a curated box filled with all of the above every month, so you don’t have to worry about replacing them each month!
Prices start at only US$10.00 per month. International shipping to Australia is another $5 per box.
Just looking through the brands, I thought it would give me the opportunity to try a few different lippies that are either new or not available to Australia. I signed up for 4 months and paid ahead. After that, your subscription automatically continues unless you cancel.
Well, it came yesterday!
This is what it looked like.
At least it arrived in March, I have had some Australian boxes that didn’t quite make the month it was supposed to be in.
4 Products, a make up bag and a card with description of the contents.
Product 1:
Hikari Lipstick – Crush. RRP US$13 (as far as I can see, not available in Australia)
A stunning, clean pink shade. Creamy texture. Not as pigmented as I would like. Feels nice.

Product 2:
Jordana Lipglaze – Raspberry RRP US$1.99. Available in Australia for AU$7.00
Lovely, glossy texture. Great weekend lip, quite soft on the lips. Very much like a balm.

Product 3:
JCat Lipcrayon – Caramel Mocha RRP US$3.99 (not available in Australia)
This one is probably more what I would wear frequently and probably my favourite of this little collection. Easy to apply, covering and smooth. (I had a quick look at JCat’s site and I am a little bit keen on some of their other products!)

Product 4:
Sally Hansen Hard as Nails in Mighty Mango RRP around US$2.00 or AU$ 10.00 (varies)
So am I happy?
Yes! I think this bag was extremely good value, and I achieved what I wanted to: try brands I hadn’t yet tried, or that aren’t available in Australia.
My favourite would be the JCat Big Lip Pencil, but for a bright pop the Hikari is lovely too.
If you would like to give this a go, there is a Code to get your first box for US$5. I went with 4 boxes for US$30 and then I will assess if I will continue or not. Join HERE
