Fox in Flats DAREcember Week 3 Round up

WEEK 3 of DAREcember.

What a week. The week started with the most horrific of incidents. A lone gunman holding 9 customers and 8 employees hostage at the Lindt Cafe at Martin Place in Sydney.

One of those moments, that everyone will remember what they were doing when they heard the news.

I heard it, getting in the car to deliver some urgent samples for a project on the North Side of Sydney. The whole day went by in a daze, with people glued to the tv or radio and praying that please no one get hurt. Unfortunately, at 2am the next morning, 2 very brave people lost their lives.

To say I really didn’t feel like taking a selfie and posting it, was an understatement. At that particular time, the media was telling us that it was a terrorist attack.

When thinking about it, it made me determined to do as I would normally do and not let anyone stop us. Not being disrespectful to the poor people being held hostage, but to put my foot down that they would not make the world stop.

This is what I wrote:

“I nearly didn’t post today. Style Dares all of a sudden seem so petty and silly compared to what those poor, poor people are going through today. Especially now, tonight, sitting in the dark. Terrified.

We go on, because we should go on.

So here is my take on Vintage. Not sure when vintage becomes vintage. Is 30 years old vintage? Wearing a Necklace from my glam Pre-children days. ”

I went to the Amber Sceats sample sale event in Sydney. And here is what I bought.

I can’t do mixed prints. It upsets me. Blame the Libra in me.

Day 18. CURVES

I very rarely wear this dress from Country Road, not really sure why. I feel a little too corporate in this, I think. This dress is draped and pleated in such a way, that it would give anyone delicious curves without showing anything, if you know what I mean. Sexy classy and work appropriate dress.

Wearing new Diavolina shoes, the perfect nude colour for me to elongate my legs.

Country Road dress is discontinued but I found this Target dress that is very similar and only $49!

Ripped jeans and Tiger Eye Bracelets from Arlu Design. Tiger Eye Stone is a quartz crystal that is a powerful stone that aids harmony and balance and helps you to release fear and anxiety. Traditionally it was carried as an amulet against curses or ill-wishing and gives you courage, self confidence and strength of will.

Oh. And they look good too.

Day 20. ROCK OUT

I was a little cheeky for this one. I know I should have taken a rock chick photo, but was not in a ROCK mood. I attended a bbq at the beach for a Christmas party and it was such a lovely day. Ate too much of course so we took the dog for a walk after.

These rocks are near our house at the bay, at the bottom of the street. That counts doesn’t it?

Wearing old Bardot top, Seed Heritage Pants, Birkenstocks and second hand Rip Curl Hat. Witchery Sunnies.

Well really, there is not one day where I don’t at least have some product on the face or on the hair.

I never thought I would be sharing a photo without make up and hair products. One of my guilty pleasures is Sunday Sleep in. When everyone is running or at the gym, I wallow like a sloth in my bed and wait for my coffee to arrive.

And there it is. Week 3.

One more week of DAREcember and it is done.

  1. All gorgeous Barbe! I love your style. It was a horrible week but you are right, we can be respectful but still live our lives. If we start living in fear and changing our way of life then the perpetrators win. Bless to those who lost loved ones and to those who got out alive x
