I was like a kid in a lolly shop today!
the International Make Up Artists Trade Show was back in Sydney this year.
Last years IMATS 2013 was great fun, and I was really looking forward to going again this year.
I am not a practicing make up artist right now. But I was, BC (Before Children). I freelanced to do weddings and would also do make ups at the store that I was managing all those years ago.
I still dabble now. Apart from my daughter’s “Cheerleading” Face, I also help out at formals, and a recent girl’s weekend away had me doing 3 winged eyeliners! You can get the girl out of make up, but you can’t get the make up out of the girl!
A great chance to stock up on some hard to find products today, at a trade show discount.
A big part of the show is the special effects make up. Absolutely fascinating what can be done with make up and prothesis!
Next was a demo done by Eliza Campagna, a make up artist who has done work for a lot of Australian Television as well as the movies Wolverine and The Great Gatsby.
She did 2 different type of make ups, a natural and a smokey eye, using Ben Nye products.
And then. There was shopping.
Some of the brands exhibiting were: MAC Pro, Ben Nye, Lime Crime, Sugar Pill Cosmetics, Sigma Cosmetics, Melli Cosmetics, and many more.
Here is what I bought!

I will try and do individual reviews of my goodies.
Such a fun day, I loved every minute of it.
Do you use any of the above products? Should I have purchased anything else?
Til next time,
I need those pink brushes 🙂
They are nearly too pretty to use, Jen! x
