Hi there, I am Barbe. I was born in Holland but I now live at the Southern Beaches of Sydney, Australia. I am a mum, a wife and a lover of all things sparkly, shiny and leopard print. I am a shoe, sunglasses and lipstick addict and my favourite colour is black. I am a typical Libra (messy, a sucker for beautiful things and creative) and oh yeah, I am a Breast Cancer Thriver. I would rather sit in front of the mirror and play with make up than go to the gym.
Why a Blog?
I am a social media buff, and my portfolio is scattered – a Facebook Fanatic, Pinterest Participant, a tweeting Twitter and an Instagram Enthusiast (my current favourite!). I figure a blog will tie it all together.
Also, without beating my own drum, I get asked for styling advice A LOT. Now I can refer them to my blog, or discuss here for all to see!
The thing is, I am no one special: I am a hopelessly addicted to fashion suburban mum of 2 adult sons and a just-turned-adult daughter. It got me to think, how many of us out there, that have outgrown shopping in the cheaper younger, funkier chainstores? Some of us work and still get to wear nice clothes, but some of us are SAHM that still want to look stylish and not look like mutton dressed as lamb. So where to go? What to buy?
Come on. We can do it. We can look AWESOME. Never looking like lamb. I promise.
What can you expect from my blog? Great inspirational shots, shopping tips and loads of selfies. My style includes lots of black, but I will try and cover most styles. You can sit back and relax, and I will do all the research for you.
You will see lots about beauty products, I review some new ones, and show you my favourites. My background is beauty therapy and B.C. (before children) I worked in a successful salon, was a free lance make up artist and was a group buyer of accessories for a chain of perfumeries.
Bear with me, I am still learning this blog thing. Please. If you can be patient with me, this may just become a fun ride.
I aim to blog twice a week, and you can come and kick my butt if I don’t perform!
Thanks for reading, and I welcome your comments!
