TEN Beauty Brands you probably didn’t know were Australian!

Well hello there Fashionistas!

Happy Straya Day!

Living in Australia is such a privilege and I am grateful every day for being a part of this culture and lifestyle. My roots are in the Netherlands, from inner city Amsterdam.  And I will always have a very close bond with my mother country but Australia is where I have chosen to live, where I have brought up my family and where I want to be.

To celebrate being in Australia on Australia Day, I have listed some of my favourite Aussie cosmetic brands. There are so many to chose from, and this is just a handful of the fantastic products available. Hope you enjoy reading, and hope you enjoy your day.

1. Bondi Sands

Bondi Sands

WE CAPTURE WHAT MAKES AUSTRALIAN SUMMERS ICONIC, AND BRING IT TO YOU EVERY DAY.

More than the best self-tanning products, Bondi Sands is about sand, sea and sun and the lifestyle that comes with it. It’s slipping off your sandals and feeling the soft sand under your feet, and its the mad dash to your towel when it starts to burn.Truly iconic, this list wouldn’t be the same without Bondi Sands self tanning products. Salon quality that is easily done at home! And as some of you know, my cheerleader daughter’s favourite! With the NEW 1 hour express product release no more need to marinate for hours!!

Favourite product: Every Day Gradual Tanning Milk.

2. Williamspro Make Up

Williams Pro make up

The Williamspro brand was founded by commercial makeup artist and media expert Azzi Williams, who in her 15-year international career was frustrated by the lack of all-natural, vegan products suitable for professional makeup-artist and media production use.

I was first introduced to Williamspro at a bloggers event, and I was particularly impressed with the Zero Powder HD Setting Powder that was one of the finest I have ever tried. They had only just released a duochrome loose highlighting powder called Selfieglo and I was wrapped! The most popping highlighter ever. Fast track a couple of years later and now there is a luxury, improved version of the Setting Powder with the addition of real 24k gold PLUS there are now 5 Selfieglo’s!

One to watch!

Favourite product: Midas Powder 24CT Gold Luxury Setting Powder.*

3. BECCA Cosmetics

BECCA cosmetics Sunchaser palette

You may not know that BECCA Cosmetics started out as an Australian Brand? Perth founder Rebecca Morrice Williams developed the brand in WA around 16 years ago and technically it is not an Australian Brand anymore since it was acquired by Estée Lauder for a reported $200 million. But this brand deserves a place on the list. It has evolved from its humble beginnings into a ($200 ) million dollar brand with amazing collaborations with top YouTubers and influencers and that is definitely nothing to be sneezed at.

Favourite product: oh so many. The highlighters, The Backlight Primer*

4. Cinch Skin

Cinch

I love the backstory of Cinch Skin. Renee Moore is a busy Melbournian mum that realised some lifestyle changes had to be made when there is no time to apply multiple layers of skincare. She wanted a multi tasking product that ticked all the boxes when it came to skincare. She couldn’t find it, so she made it herself! Face Cheat is a five-in-one facial spray that promises to prime, moisturise, minimise pores, hydrate and illuminate. The range has been extended with a no rinse cleanser and a cream moisturiser. Available from Priceline!

Favourite product: the original Face Cheat spray*

5. Gilded cage

Gilded Cage

I was first introduced to Gilded Cage when I received the most gorgeous of RED lipstick in my Marie Claire subscription box. This Aussie brand was founded in Sydney by the lovely Rhys Williams. Products include creamy no budge eyeshadows, luscious lipglosses and creamy, dreamy lipsticks. There is also the new addition of a range of beautiful cream highlighters. Manufactured in Italy, cruelty free and free from all the bad stuff – with the ethos that everyone is beautiful, because of who you are: A Singular Beauty.

Favourite product – Charisma lipgloss in Natural*

6. Alpha H

Alpha H liquid gold and cleanser

Every single skincare junkie has this product of the cosmeceuticals range Alpha -H on their shelf: the best selling and truly iconic resurfacing treatment Liquid Gold. Michelle Doherty, Brand Owner and Director believes that the days of conventional skincare are gone. They have never been able to slow down the ageing process. Alpha-H are leaders in exfoliation, resurfacing and skin renewal and they have done so for over 20 years.

Favourite product: Liquid Gold. (Psst. Looks like they are bringing out an eye one too!)

7. We are Feel Good Inc

Feel Good Inc Sensitive sunscreen

“Throw a surfer, a doctor, and a builder together, add a designer, retailer and content writer together and you have the Feel Good Inc Team.”

They wanted a sunscreen that would become the Worlds best Sunscreen. Toxin free, gluten free and not tested on animals. A Sunscreen you can feel good about! We Are Feel Good Inc have three different sunscreen lotions – all 50+ plus a zinc cream. Another top notch brand from WA.

Favourite product: Sensitive Sunscreen lotion SPF50+*

8. LUMA Cosmetics

luma

Aussie Jess Hart’s Skin Loving Make up Range has had a revamp.  This range now has stunning highlighters, illuminators and BB creams. Luma uses crushed pearl to illuminate and diffuse fine lines, but crushed pearl actually has benefits for skin health as well. Totally multi purpose!

Inspired by you, we set to create a. multi-purpose, luminous beauty routine
that will enhance – never conceal your natural radiance.

I have personally only tested one of their delicious highlighters, but am keen to try the illuminating primer. Will keep you posted!

Favourite product: On the Glow Highlighter in Take me Topaz*

9. Skinstitut

Skinstitut

Skinstitut  was founded in 2008 and is formulated by leading cosmetic chemists and pharmacists to ensure the effective use of active ingredients. High quality, advanced formulations that deliver results at a very affordable price. I have used this range on and off for many years now and have always found it to deliver.  Read one of my reviews HERE

Skinstitut’s philosophy, that high end skincare should be accessible to everyone, is realised in their professional grade, corrective products. Australian made and owned, Skinstitut is a cosmedical range of active, result-orientated solutions designed to strengthen the skin and make it healthier, thereby slowing down the visible signs of ageing. Skinstitut products are cost effective yet use top-quality, potent, cutting edge ingredients from all over the world.

Favourite product: Skinstitut Vitamin C 100% Granules

10. Lanolips

Lanolips

Kirsten Carriol had to catch a plane and was stuck for lip balm. That long flight became her light bulb moment. Growing up on a remote Australian sheep farm her Dad (a DNA scientist) had taught her that lanolin, from wool, mimics human oils – making it nature’s secret to all skin moisture. As a child, lanolin was the only ingredient her parents used on her lips & skin. Chapped but undefeated, Kirsten then created Lano: the most natural – and magically simple – lanolin lip & skincare in the world.  Apart from producing THE best lip balm in the world (in my opinion), a tube of the Lano All Over Everywhere Multi Cream lives in my car. It has been applied on cuticles, hands, dry frizzy hair and back of the heels during the day. A must as far as I am concerned.

Favourite product: Lano All Over Everywhere Multi Cream and the Tinted Balm SPF30*

I hope you enjoyed this post. Let me know your favourite Aussie products below, always happy to try them out!

Til next time,
