Brand Focus: Maybelline! New Releases for 2016 and Make up Demo

Well hello there Fashionistas!

You know I love my high end products, but I do have some favourite drugstore/chemist products, and most of them are Maybelline. You may remember my All time favourite Age Rewind Concealer that not only made it to my March favourites but was listed in my 2015 favourites as well.  I use it nearly every day. I have used their Fit Me foundation and numerous lippies as well.

I was lucky enough to receive a bunch of new releases from Maybelline*, and what better way to show you than to do a make up using all my goodies! Thank you Maybelline for the gifts!

The demo video is below the descriptions.

New At Maybelline:

Dream Velvet Soft -Matt Hydrating Foundation*

Maybelline Dream Velvet Foundation and Master Conceal

What a beautiful texture, it really feels like velvet. It leaves a nice matte finish, is easy to blend and delivers medium to full coverage. It promises 12 hour wear, but unfortunately didn’t last that long on me. I used colour Pure Beige.

Master Conceal Camouflage Concealer*

Highly pigmented, but slightly drying. I used it on my eyelids as an eyeshadow base that lasted well. A little too drying for under eye, I prefer to use my Age Rewind under the eyes. On this make up I have used both. I used colour Light/Medium in the Master Conceal and Medium in Age Rewind.

The Blushed Nudes Collection*

Maybelline Blushed Nudes collection

The Collection ranges from rose golds, to plums to taupes. A lovely palette for a soft make up look. Use your brushes wet to create a punchier, more pigmented look.

The Lasting Drama Gel 24 hour Automatic Pencil*

Maybelline Lasting Drama Gel Automatic pencil

I really like this pencil. It is soft and gel like to put on and is highly pigmented. Particularly great to use on the waterline. It definitely does not last 24 hours but does not run down my face like some pencils do. Very waxy pencils usually leave a horrible film on my eyes and I am forever blinking it away, but this pencil does not do that whatsoever.

The Falsies Push Up Drama Mascara*

Maybelline The Falsies Push Up Drama mascara

Once I got the hang of using the usual shaped brush and didn’t poke myself in the eye, this is actually a very nice mascara. It curls the lashes and makes them appear thicker and longer. I like that it comes in a waterproof or washable version as well. 10/10 for me!

Brow Drama Pomade Crayon*

Maybelline Brow Drama Pomade Crayone

Interesting brow pencil! It is a colour and a wax at the same time. I used 2 colours, a lighter on the inside and a darker in the middle and tail to give more definition. I cleaned up with a little concealer and I was able to achieve quite a nice defined brow.

Master Contour Face Contouring Kit*

Maybelline Master Contouring Kit

I have been carrying this kit around with me during the day. It is compact and has 3 good colours. I do use my own brush though, the little brush that comes with it, is a bit puny. Also a mirror would have been good. But the blush reminds of me of a far more expensive Nars Orgasm Blush at a fraction of the cost. The highlighter is lovely too. I find the contouring colour a little muddy and hard to blend, but that is personal. I eventually got there!

Color sensational  Lip  Blushed Nudes and Colorshow Nail the Blushed Nudes*

Maybelline new release

Lovely lipstick range of 6 pinky nude  colours in a Semi matte finish with 4 matching nail colours.  Matte lipsticks, but creamy enough not to dry out the lips. I used the colour 207 Pink Fling on the lips, and a beautiful colour called Dusty Rose on the nails.

Face Studio Masterfix Setting Spray*

I was very excited to try this spray. I use another brand normally but this one works just as well. It sets the make up to last all day, which is so important to me when I am at work. I don’t have to time to reapply and I want to know that my make up is still on point when I go and see the next customer.

Other Maybelline New Release products but not used in the video:

Baby lips Balm & Blush*

These are fantastic for dry lips. There are 4 colours available but My favourite is the Shimmering bronze. Super moisturising and a hint of shimmer!

Vivid Matte Liquid*

NEW Maybelline Release: Vivid Matte Liquid!

8 colours Liquid lipsticks that are applied with a wand. Surprisingly pigmented, but not really very matte. It stays liquid for a very long time, and still leaves a shine when dry. I don’t mind this so much, because I have been suffering from dry lips this Winter and this is fine.

Master Precise Curvy Liner

It looks great, but I haven’t tried it. This is what is says in the press release:

  • EXCLUSIVE HOURGLASS FELT-TIPHugs the curve of your lids from corner to corner with full-bodied black lines.
  • CURVED SILHOUETTE GRIPShape designed to follow the contour of your palm for the ultimate ease and comfort.

Concentrated carbon black hugs your lids with a lasting film and all day tenacity.

Bugger. This sounds really good and I was keen on trying it!

As you can see, it is a huge release, and there is no reason why you can’t  have a great face of make up with the more reasonable priced products.

Here is the video, using only Maybelline products! Grab a coffee, it takes about 7  minutes. Click on the little cog underneath and select HD. The picture is much nicer! 🙂

Please note, this is not a sponsored post, I was given the products marked with * for reviewing purposes only.  My results may differ from other peoples result. I am not a professional make up artist, just an enthusiast.

Is there anything that catches your eye, that you would like to try?

Til next time,
