Twice a year our local Aussie Chemist Priceline has 40% off cosmetics and I have been hanging out for the next one!
I love my high end products, but there are certain “drugstore” products that give the Luxe ones a run for their money.
Here are some of my favourites. I have asked around in some of the beauty groups I am a member of, and I have listed some of their recommendations too.
Please add yours below in the comments so it will help our fellow Fashionistas!
I have started with this brand because there are SOOOO many products in this range that I love.
Age Rewind Concealer This was in my March ’15 favourites and I always stock up on this whenever there is a sale on. Medium is my colour but there is a FAIR as well. Love the sponge tip and I used it every day. It seems to be the only one that doesn’t crease under my eyes. 10/10
Fit Me Matte and Poreless Foundation This foundation is medium coverage, but is build able to full coverage. With the right primer, this lasts all day on me, the finish is lovely. There is also a DEWY version for those Fashionistas with a drier skin
The Nudes Palette A great little palette. One I chuck in my bag because a. it is cheap. b. it is little. c. it has all the colours I need. Great palette for the price.
And then there is the: Color Drama lip pencils, the Mascaras, The Color Sensational Lipsticks and I just picked up a really nifty Contour/highlight duo (will swatch another time, but the dark colour is a perfect brown, with no orange at all) and the Master Liner Cream Pencil.
Recommended by others: Leather cream shadows, Fit me concealer, Age Rewind concealer. Hyperwing or master precise eyeliner
The BEST range of lipsticks: a great range of NUDES for any skin colour, and the Only One lipsticks are some of the best formulas around for a non drying, super comfy texture. I ADORE the Kate Moss matte lipsticks. The Apocalips in matte or the laquer are AMAZING! I have the Magni’Eyes pens on my radar, and probably will buy these this week. I love their Scandal Eyes Pencils too.
Products I have personally tried and love: ALL of the Velours Lip matte liquid colours, the Cream Contouring palette, the Fresh and Flawless powder.
Recommended by others: the new Australis oh 2 glow foundation, and the primer has come highly recommended.
I have tried the Base Magique smoothing transforming primer, which works well with the True Match Mineral Powder ( a beautiful finish, but soooo messy!).
Recommended by others: Lumi Magique cushion foundation, True Match Foundation, Butterfly Lash and False Lash Superstar mascara.
My first love. I bought my first blush in Paris, and the fragrance of the blush still takes me back. Their little pots of blush and eyes are gems – full of pigments and such beautiful colours!
Recommendations by others: The Healthy Mix Foundation seems popular as well as their liquid liners!
For the sheer prettiness and quirkiness of it all. I own a couple of pieces, the pigment of the bronzer is lovely and the shimmer is out of this world. Very pretty blushes too.
Other products I recommend: Ardell Brow products are wonderful – the pomades will give Anastasia Beverly Hills a run for their money, and their brow pencils are great. (also stocking up on their Wispie lashes!) I am stocking up on stick-on nails, until my own nails grow back properly. Essie Nailpolishes come in a million different colours and are just great. I found a beautiful highlighting palette by Models Prefer, and I haven’t even started on Revlon and Essence! (Grab a handful of Essence lipliners, they are so creamy – they can be worn as lippies and are about $3 full price!)
Another tip for you: I have been told that it is the busiest between 11-3 and a lot will get sold out on Wednesday. Also, the sale is for online shopping too, get in early before the site will have a meltdown.
So, make your list, stock up on what you need and save yourself some money.
Hope you found this useful, let me know what you bought!
Happy shopping, til next time,
