I have such a love-hate relationship with my hair and I must have spent thousands of products over the years.
My hair is not your standard thin, thick, dry, oily etc.
This is the problem:
I need re-rooting every three weeks, which is not that wonderful for the hair. Add to that the Blonde and Caramel highlights that my clever hairdresser adds and you have super damaged hair.
Now, i don’t have the greatest of hair to start of with: it is fairly sparse (it looks like i have a bald spot on the back of my head!), it is in-between straight and curly and fine. It has always been that way, but having lost my hair twice through chemo has made it extra thin over the year. And I wash my hair every day – shock horror.
I look for shampoos/conditioners that are volumising. My latest shampoo and conditioner set was the L’oreal Elvive range. Yes, they were certainly volumising but a little drying and it is not doing my bleached ends any good. I tend to swap and change when my hair gets used to the shampoo and conditioner.
Lucky for me, I was gifted Oblepikha Shampoo and Conditioner by Natura Siberica at an event organised by Bloggers United Australia this weekend.
We watched a great presentation by Lisa and Chantalle to tell us all about this exciting organic beauty range for body and hair. All products contain unique Siberian ingredients, including pure, natural and organic flowers and herbs, with some amazing benefits.
This is what it says on the website:
Natura Siberica offers Australians organic beauty products made with unique ingredients sourced from the unspoilt lands of Siberia
Natura Siberica is the first Certified Organic beauty brand based on wild harvested herbs and exclusive natural ingredients sourced from the unspoilt continent of Siberia. We are humbled to be launching into Australia this unique range of products to consumers who appreciate the importance of using natural organic products on their skin and hair.
Pretty impressive huh.
Now have a look at the pretty bottles.
The fragrance is OUT OF THIS WORLD: fresh, floral and it lingers all day long.
The hair products I tried are the Nutrition and Repair Set.
Repairs damaged hair structure
Seals hair surface with a protective layer
Makes hair thicker and stronger
Makes brushing easier
I am here to tell you, I am impressed.
The Shampoo did not foam up a lot for the first wash, but did at the second wash. The conditioner immediately smoothed my hair and felt super soft.
I was worried it would make my hair flat, but nuh huh.
I blew my hair dry as usual with a big round brush, but decided not to use any product to see how the hair would react. After I dried it, I used my GHD to pull through some loose curls and finished with a spritz of hairspray.
My hair was smooth, the GHD just slid through without catching and it was pliable and not frizzy at all. In fact the curls stayed all day and even the rain today didn’t make it go fluffy.
Will I buy this again?
If my hair keeps behaving it did today..hell yea!
The Oblepikha Shampoo and Oblepikha Conditioner retail for $17.99 each, but are on special at Chemist Warehouse at time of publishing for $14.99 each.
Do you stick to a range of shampoos and conditioners or do you continuously swap like me?
Til next time,
