Oh My goodness Fashionistas. We are in May. Month 5 means we are nearly half way through the year, it is just flying!!
This month is a bit of a mixed bag of goodies. I am growing my hair a little longer so it has been a bit of a battle to make it look a bit thicker as the length weighs it down, and to keep the dry ends at bay. Last month saw me at Mercedes Benz Fashion Weekend (don’t look for it, haven’t written it up yet!!) and one of the sponsors was Redken. There were lots of fun goodies in the goody bag by Redken so one of the gifts makes an appearance.
1. Redken Body Full Shampoo and Conditioner
Why I Love them:
Well, it is Redken. It cleans my hair beautifully without making it too heavy and flat. I coincidentally bought this beginning of April and with washing my hair every day and I am nearly ready to replace them with a newie. And it is available from my local Woollies. They retail for around AU$20 each.
2. Hourglass Radiant Magenta Lighting Blush
Why I love it :
I bought this when I had my make up done at Mecca in March and have pretty much been wearing this blush every day. (unless it clashed with my lippy!) This blush is so lovely – it is a light -medium, warm toned pink with nearly an iridescent finish to give you depth and dimension. A stunning blush. Bought at Mecca for AU$46
3. My Make Up Brush drying Tree
Why I love it:
My best friend surprised me with this. She has been witness to my weekly brush wash with dozens of brushes drying on a towel. No more towel! No more flattened bristles!
This works a treat! Love it! I believe my friend bought this from Ebay.
5. Redken Colour Rebel Temporary colour in Champagne Rose
Why I love it:
Make up for the hair! I wrote all about my obsession for Rose Gold ombre hair HERE. This was in the gift bag when we attended the Mercedes Benz Fashion Weekend and I love it. I have searched high and low for this product to let you know how much to buy it for, but this colour does not seem to be available at the time of writing this post. The colour is gorgeous, metallic shades of copper and rose gold create quite a shimmery colour. Have worn this loads of times.
5. Real Techniques Limited Edition Sculpting Set
Why I love it:
I am a big fan of the Real Technique brushes. So ok, they are not Sigma, or Zoeva or MAC, but they are easily accessible, and wash beautifully with no fall out. This limited edition set I stumbled upon at Priceline. I think i actually paid AU$36 for the set, but there was a gift with purchase of a small set of travel brushes. (I found the Contouring set on Iherb for AU$25.45). And how pretty are they? In shiny pink rather than the matte look. My favourite of these brushes is actually the middle one, the slanted sculpting one: amazing for contouring, it gives you razor-sharp cheekbones and a chiselled nose. I have used the top one, which is a powder setting one, but haven’t used the fan yet. Excuse the state of the sculpting brush, it needs a wash.
Ah, a bit of this and a bit of that again. There were a lot of lovely products this month I made my favourites: my Nars Audacious lipstick in Grace, My Sleek contouring set that was dirt cheap, but I have listed the ones I used the most or the ones I was most excited about.
Have you used any of these products? What were your favourites?
Til next time,
