Product Review – Vidal Sassoon Curl Secret is making waves!

Santa came up trumps!!

He brought me a Vidal Sassoon Curl Secret, the Legend!

I was weighing up whether I would like the new GHD Oval Curling want as seen on on TV on Fashion Bloggers, or this beauty.

I have a lot of trouble actually using my flat iron, so I figure the VS would be better. My daughter who has beautiful long hair, received a little demo at the Shaver Shop. Gorgeous!

And you know what? It does everything it promises to do!

(I have to let you know though, that I have very fine hair, and the results I received may not be the same as with your hair)

Santa informed me, he bought it at the Shaver shop for $144 and also received its own heat mat (very handy!) and a gorgeous storage/carry case designed by Little Joe Woman. Winning!

This is what it says on Vidal Sassoons website:

The curl revolution is here! Featuring revolutionary new patented technology, this breathtakingly innovative styler is unbelievably simple and quick to use, creating beautiful results in no time.

Hair goes in, curl comes out. It’s that simple.

3 pictures vs

It really is that simple.

  • Section the hair
  • I used the Curl Secret half way down the hair because that is where I want the curl to start – hold the open ended side towards the head.
  • Place in the appliance, close and it will wind the hair around the middle!
  • When the hair is sufficiently curled, it will emit a beep and you can let go. Voila! A beautiful curl!

There are some really good features I am impressed with:

There are 2 heat settings and 3 timer features.

It is recommended to start with the lowest temperature setting and increase the level of heat as required. The Red light will blink while the Curl Secret is heating up. When steady, it is at the right temperature and ready to use.

The Timer settings  are great create either bigger curls, or waves use the 8 or 10 second timer, and for tighter curls or spirals use the 10 or 12 second setting.

The safety features are worth mentioning too:

Should you hold the hair in the Styler longer than is required, it will simply stop and beep.

Should you have taken too much hair, or hair is not going through the centre of the Styler, the Curl Secret will stop and emit a series of fast beeps. Phew.

I have done a demo for you guys, just because I love youse all.

A couple of tips:

Make sure your hair is dry before you use the Curl Secret.

Wait with brushing or fluffing until your hair is completely cooled down.

I can’t thank Santa enough, because this little machine is amazing. I can see it working for me on day old dirty hair, it is super quick and the curl holds amazingly well.

What do you think? Do you like to use a curling device? What is  your favourite?

Til Next time,
