I received a giftvoucher of my oldest son for Mother’s Day for one of my favourite stores: Witchery. I never fail to find anything from this store, I love their range for work and play. A lot of black (TICK!) , with pops of seasonal colours (TICK!) and great quality.
I saw a picture of this skirt, and I knew I had to spend my voucher on it. The Print was great: It looks like Blurred tartan, or a close up of tweed or is it houndstooth? (if you know what this print is called, let me know!) When I fall in love with an item, in my mind, I pair it with what I have in my wardrobe , and what else it might go with. I am a bit of a Monochrome queen and I was already seeing it in my mind with my cross over white shirt, or just a plain black. More over, in Winter, I could SO see this with a leather jacket or a chunky turtle neck and black opaques.
A trip to my local Westfield, and I tried it on, and perfect! This skirt sucks in all those wobbly bits to create nice silhouette. I may or may not have bought a stripey crop top in addition of the skirt. I just can’t resist. Both came home with me.
It is 26C in Sydney, all of this week, and next week, not bad for Autumn! So the tights and the chunky knit have to wait. I chose to wear it today with a sleeveless top from Kmart from last year. The midi length is not ideal for my short stumpy legs, so I chose to wear Neutral high heels to lengthen my legs.
The skirt is the hero and I wanted it to have its 15 minutes of fame right here.
As it happens, the Print Challenge by Style and Shenanigans I am taking part of, had GEO/CHECK as it Print of Day 5. Below is my entry.
