Product Review – Ardell Brow Defining Kit

I received this Kit in my very first August Her Fashion Box. A monthly subscription to receive a great selection of fashion, beauty and lifestyle items.

I should explain that I use brow products every. single. day.

After losing my eyebrows twice, they have never come back properly, so a little help is needed. A great brow frames the face and pulls your make up together.

Eyes are the so called windows to the soul, but eyebrows frame these windows!

Fortunately there are many different products on the market, some of my favourites are Napoleon Perdis Eyebrow Pencil and Benefit Brow Zing kit.

I was excited to see this product in the box and I thought it deserved a review and a little how-to all by itself.

These are just some very basic tips, the same tips we use at Look Good…Feel Better workshops, where I volunteer.

The Palette has 3 colours to blend your most natural shade and a highlighter to enhance the brows.

The Brow Grooming Pencil is a waxy, non coloured pencil to hold in place, and the duo brow brush allows for easy, precise application.

The HOW TO BROW guide in the Her Fashion Box Magazine tell you to use a blend of the palette shades to get the right one for you and THEN use the Brow Grooming Pencil to apply along the brow to perfectly set your powder.

Have a play with this because I prefer to use the waxy pencil FIRST and then apply the colour afterwards. See what you prefer.

Apply a little of the highlighter under the highest arch of your brow.

Finish by brushing with the Mascara looking brush in the direction of the hairs.

As a guide, your brow should start,  measuring a straight line from the edge of the nostril to the inner corner of your eye.

See below.

Your brow should end, measuring a straight line  from your nostril to the outer corner of your eye.

Below are before and after defining the eyebrows. See what a difference it makes?

Would I buy this product again?

Absolutely! The blend of 3 colours makes it easy to get the most natural of colours for me. I like to use a bit more of a dramatic brow at night (think Dita von Teese!), these colours are ideal. The waxy pencil comes with its own sharpener. Bonus!!

oh psst… you can use the kit as eyeshadows too…

RRP for the Ardell Brow Defining Kit is $24.95 from major pharmacies.
